Junior Coaching Program

is designed to provide athletes with the necessary life skills and experience to succeed in all of their future endeavors.

Wonderland Elite recognizes the impact that local youth can have on our communities and, as such, is invested in the growth and development of the youth who are involved in our programs! 

Our Junior Coach program is a 12-month program built to channel the energy of local youth positively and prepare the next generation of leadership in the workforce and our communities…

This program is an important component of what makes Wonderland Elite so special. When you look at our current staff and coaches, many of our younger coaches began as junior coaches first and have since grown into strong leaders. Our main goals are always to provide participants with a positive coaching experience, ongoing learning, and the skills and education to continue in coaching and into the future. We strive to develop more than just strong athletes; we are shaping strong leaders of the future…

We believe this program gives athletes a chance to further their talent in their sport and have them grow as amazing young adults. Skills athletes will gain include leadership skills, communication skills, management skills, and organizational skills (planning practices). Learn more below..

Participants…

will learn valuable life skills applicable to any career path through a combination of professional development workshops and on-the-job training. Participants will gain further knowledge of themselves and their learning/teaching styles by participating in coaches clinics and hands-on experience working with their peers alongside our experienced coaching staff.

Topics studied include but are not limited to: 

  • Student-Athlete Health, Wellness, & Fitness Instruction

  • Athlete Safety & Injury Prevention

  • Mental Health & Nutrition

  • Communication, Management, & Organizational Skills

  • Youth Development, Skill Development, & Leadership

  • Career Exploration & Lesson Planning

  • First Aid & CPR in Youth Sports

Certification…

Upon completion of the program, participants will be asked to reflect upon their experience and will receive a certificate of completion.

At which point, they will be well-versed in working with youth (ages 3-17), be able to teach beginner-level cheerleading, gymnastics, and youth fitness instruction, and become experienced in CPR & first aid in youth sports.

RESPONSIBILITIES…

As a member of the Wonderland Elite Junior Coach Leadership Program, your job is to assist the head coach(es) in successfully running practices and/or rec gymnastics, cheer/tumbling, ninja, and dance classes. This may include practice planning and taking the lead on stretches and drills. We also want to promote a positive environment that encourages cooperation and friendship among the team of participants and our coaches and families.
